Its been a busy past couple of months for the Garnavillo Historical Society. Besides being open for the season on weekends and baking & selling pies on the 4th of July, the Society hosted a number of county groups who visited or held their meetings at the newly air conditioned museum. The Clayton County Genealogical Society visited on June 25 to tour and hear the story of the 1902 Crestmobile.
The Clayton County Historical Preservation Committee members: John Nikolai, Roger Thomas, Milt Johnson, Lee Lenth, Gary Goyette, & Ellen Collins met at the Museum on July 12. Residents of Scenic Acres homes toured the museum, log cabin and lodge hall on July 18.
In addition the Society hosted the afternoon break stop of the North Iowa Tractor Ride at the Garnavillo City Park on Saturday July 27.
