The Garnavillo Historical Museum is now sporting a new visitor hours sign on the front of the building.  The previous wood sign, painted by Melissa Oleson of Garnavillo, was replaced in May with a vinyl sign created by AUTOTEK Graphic Design of Guttenberg.  A new security light was also added above the museum’s front door.

It was time for a new sign on the front fence of the Prairie Winds Garden in Garnavillo to replace the white “Public Garden” sign.     Originally a large sign was created for the garden from an old iron hay fork and was hung on the side of the house that used to stand

Members and volunteers of the Garnavillo Historical Society wrapped up their 2023 season with their annual appreciation supper and corporate meeting held, Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the Garnavillo Community Center. Nineteen members and four guests enjoyed the light meal of sandwiches, potatoes and assorted desserts served by the Board and member volunteers.  Following the meal, the late

UNI student, Lindsey Thuente, recently completed her Spring semester History Public Field Experience for the Garnavillo Historical Society.  Lindsey chose a remote research project of gathering information on 8 early settlers to the Jacksonville/Garnavillo area.  She then created profiles of each for posting on a new exhibit at the museum.  Jane Thein, Garnavillo Historical Society
