The Garnavillo Museum’s exhibit of Althea Sherman paintings will double this year. Thanks to work done by local volunteers and UNI student Brenna Hildebrand last spring (2020), works of Sherman’s that have been stored in boxes at the museum have been inventoried. 16 paintings and 4 sketches were selected for matting and framing to add to the display. In addition, an exhibit of information and other memorabilia of Sherman’s has also been created by local Historical Society board member and volunteer June Wolter. The Sherman exhibit will be housed in the East Balcony of the museum and will also include a painting of the Sherman homestead painted by local artist, the late Mary (Mrs Roy) Eulberg.
